Our Beginning

Our goal has always been and will always be to share the same love of Christ that has transformed our lives. We believe that God has created us to love the western way of life and has give us a unique opportunity to share this lifestyle while impacting others with the Gospel of Christ.

Loving the Western Way of Life

“But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”
Matthew 7:14

Our goal is to impact lives through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Trail to the Cross Bible Camp

Why do we exist?

A combination of a passion for Christ and a love of rodeo led us to develop this local chapter in South Central Missouri. Our goal is to impact lives through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We strive to accomplish this through our annual Rodeo Bible Camp, Big Loop Roping, The Cowboy Christmas Gala, and other events.

We Have Been Hosting These Youth Camps for Over 13 years

We hold a number of projects and events throughout the year to raise funds and enjoy time with the Trail to the Cross community. The events include our Rodeo Bible Camp, Cowboy Christmas Gala, Big Loop, and much more.

We have professional rodeo athletes at camp all week that serve as instructors.

Ongoing fundraising and donations make this ministry possible and give us an opportunity to reach and disciple people for Jesus Christ.

Trail to the Cross began in 2009 with a group of young adults seeing the need for reaching youth through the avenue of Rodeo Bible Camps. Trail to the Cross began as a chapter of Fellowship of Christian Cowboys but we have recently joined Rodeo Bible Camps of America.

Our first camp was held in Salem, MO with an attendance of 23 campers. We held camp in Salem for 2 years, then moved to Rolla, MO for one year. In 2013, our camp was moved to a more permanent location. Through fundraising, generous business and individuals, and money given as a memorial to Amy Connell, Trail to the Cross was able to purchase an arena complex on the grounds of Whispering Winds Bible Camp. In 2017, camp attendance grew to 95, plus we were able to hold several clinics throughout the year, giving us further chances to minister.

Split Camp

It was an amazing camp, as a camper I enjoyed being able to learn about the Bible and my animal yet I feel as if since you’ve split the camps the older kids camp hasn’t been as joyous because the little kids brought a lot of joy to the camp.

Great Time and Lots of Learning

Sent my kids for the first time last year. They had wanted to attend prior years but just didn't work with out schedules. My daughter is a barrel racer but learned so much from the instructors. My son wanted to start roping and I signed him up for break away roping. They both came back with a wealth of knowledge, new friendships, and an eagerness to return to camp this year (2023). Excited to see what they come back with.

Great Place to Send Your Kids

I could not be more pleased with the people at Trail to the Cross. They really take the time with the young people and give each one the individual time and attention.
